This week was the first week I started my new working roster. 4 x 8 hour days. It was not as painful as I thought. I know some of you are thinking “What an easy week!” For some of you it would be. I’ve been working part time for the last year. We couldn’t afford the little one being in daycare so much. Now that things have changed a little bit, we’ve had to change things up. I have a lot less time on the days where I work full time. It’ll be a challenge making sure that we have healthy home cooked meals. But it’ll be worth it.

Our youngest started at his new day care this week. They’ve been so lovely with him. We’ve had to for the first time, send him with a cuddly toy. Not something that I would do normally (we’ve never had to – the older 2 were super happy to explore) but he has been so upset. He just needs that extra support. He’s cried every time I’ve dropped him off but he’s settled quite quickly. He seems to be having fun once he relaxes a little.

I had a later start on Saturday morning. I really needed it this week. These 5am wake ups really need a no later than 9pm bed time. Sometimes I like to sit up a little longer, I really prefer to be a night owl. Or I used to. Now, although I love getting lost in a book or a good film at night, I find I am no where near as productive. I’m not working while I’m up for the same amount of time. It feels like a waste.

I have been working so hard on my Etsy Store and creating new products. My focus needs to move to keywords, tags and titles. The bit I find most difficult on Etsy. I am pretty confident with creating a cute product, however getting it in front of buyers is difficult. I guess that’s business though.

Meal prep this week consisted of:

  • Brownies
  • Sweet Potato, Feta and Spinach Savoury Muffins
  • Spaghetti bolognese
  • Jelly and fruit

It’s been a great start to the week. We’ve managed to plant the Cherry Tree we bought last week. I have to remember to keep watering it everyday for 2 weeks. Or it’ll kick the bucket like the last one. Spring in the garden is so beautiful. Everything growing, seeds popping up, insects and bugs emerging. It’s full of life.

I’m here just trying to get through the last part of the year. Why is spring at the end of the year for us here in the southern hemisphere. I mean I know why, I understand and really enjoy our seasons. But sometimes I do think that Spring at the beginning of the year is a good thing. You’re coming out of the cold winter, building energy, ready to explode.

Ha. I guess I’m ready to explode – just not with excited energy. More like internally implode from exhaustion.

Have a great week!
