I wanted to reach out and share a brief update on what’s been happening in my world lately. Life has taken some unexpected turns recently, and I’ve been quieter than usual as I navigate through some family matters that require my full attention and presence.

Practice with figures – I am not very good at this!!

The past few weeks have brought significant changes to our household. I’ve stepped into homeschooling my daughter, which has been both challenging and rewarding in ways I didn’t anticipate. There’s something profound about being so directly involved in her learning journey, even though it means my art and writing schedule has shifted considerably.

The boys have been keeping me on my toes as well. We are celebrating Marcus’ birthday today with a party this weekend with a small party. He’s growing up so fast. High school next year.

We’ve also welcomed a new furry family member – a puppy who has brought equal measures of chaos and joy into our daily routine. Between puppy training, lesson plans, and everything else, my days look completely different than they did a month ago. It’s quite amusing to watch Jim and the puppy together – they seem to feed off each other’s energy, racing around the house in what can only be described as synchronised chaos. Sometimes I’m not sure who’s training whom!

Another significant adjustment has been scaling back Jim’s daycare hours due to the changes in our circumstance. While it made sense financially, it’s certainly added another layer of complexity to our weekly schedule, requiring some creative solutions to ensure everyone’s needs are met while I still find time for art and my blog.

I won’t lie – it’s been an adjustment period filled with moments of uncertainty. It still is and I guess it will continue to be. But there’s also something grounding about being fully present for the people (and animals) who need me most right now. I’m trying to find beauty in the unexpected detours life takes us on, even when those detours involve stepping on dog toys in the middle of the night.

I’m incredibly grateful for your patience and understanding during this time. Your continued support means more than you know. While I can’t promise a return to my regular posting schedule just yet, I’m hopeful that as we settle into our new rhythm, I’ll be back with more content to share.

Thank you for being such a wonderful community.

Wishing you endless inspiration and flourishing creativity in your art and garden endeavors. Happy creating!
